You know... I hate when people say... "I love that (insert famous pop culture icon)... they are always reinventing themselves."
What the heck does that mean? Re-invent yourself?
Change your style, perhaps. But why don't we just SAY that then... When I think of those people who are obsessing over said "famous pop culture icon" I think of folks who need to realize that just because they are 'normal' doesn't mean that they are any less than the stars that they idolize.
I mean, why do you think that stars have to re-invent themselves? It's because the personality or that something special that they have isn't interesting enough to last a lifetime. It means that in order to keep people's attention, they have to change themselves.
Well, that's stupid.
Normal folk like us stay the same. Sure, we dye our hair (guilty culprit right here), we change clothes, maybe our favorite topping on our slice of pizza will change. BUT--- we don't have to re-invent ourselves in order to have friends that last a lifetime.
It's too bad that we have a society that idolizes stars people that have to change who they are in order to have the general public love them and stick with them through the years.
And of course, perhaps I'm just lucky that I have multiple personalities so that my friends can choose which one they like the best and stick with that one.
